To Swedish naturalist Linnaeus you were definitely "Homo Sapien". He was the one who designed this standardised dual name approach to classifying organisms.
It is 250 years this year since he published his seminal 1753 book, Species Plantarum that classified over 5,900 different plant species and has served as the template for scientific nameclature ever since. In 1758 he published the book Systema Naturae which extended this approach to animals. This is when we first acquired the definition Homo Sapiens.
