Attending conferences is an important part of academic and professional life. It enables the attendees to keep abreast of latest techniques and development in the corner of the academic world that they call home. One has to be selective though, there are a lot of light weight events that contribute little to your development. It is just not worth going to this sort, unless someone else is paying of course.
The Green Man has eclectic tastes in conferences but he has stumbled across one that takes the cake, or is that bottle. The Whiskeys Of The World conference is scheduled for March 2004 at the San Francisco Hilton. "Of what scientific merit is this conference?" I hear you ask. The answer from those attending will undoubtably be "Who cares?" (spoken with a slur)
