Outhouse Musing

See, now this is what I am talking about when I say there are significant cultural differences between Australia and USA. In Australia the outhouse is a small room on country properties that is used for an activity of a personal and private nature.

By way of contrast, in the USA, it seems that they are the vehicle of choice when it comes to racing down the main street.

Here is a grass covered entrant in the North Michigan outhouse races. It clearly makes up for in style what it lacks in aerodynamics.

Visit their site to see the full collection outhouse racers, click here.

Of course North Michigan does not have sole purchase on this unique cultural event. Here are some others from around the USA.

Conconully, WA
Mountain View, Arkansas
Chatnika, Alaska
Black Forest, Colorado
Forestville
Dawson City, Yukon

To name but a few.
