There have been some unkind things said on blogs of late about the USA and it would be easy to get the impression that there is a lot of anti-American feeling around at the moment. The Green Man thinks it is opportune to give some praise to Americans for a job well done. When it comes to sex they are holding their own (and when they are not holding it they are using it to good effect). In the population stakes they are the only developed country to be producing enough "cannon fodder" to replace the current generation. Click here for a graph.

Whilst we have seen a pick up in hanky panky rates generally over the last two years or so, only the USA has managed to crawl above the fateful red line that indicates a sustainable population.

For the rest of the OECD countries it looks like they will be looking to the third world for carers to work in their nursing homes.
