TXU says What Global Warming?

Do you buy your energy from TXU, The Green Man does, and he is most disconcerted to discover that, in the midst of all the concern on global warming they are about to commence construction of 11 new coal-fired powerplants in the US, to the tune of 11 billion dollars. Their 11 plants will produce 78 million tons of CO2 emissions each year for the expected 50-year lifespan of the plants. This is more than entire countries, such as Sweden, Denmark, and Portugal. It is also the equivalent of putting 10 million 4WDs on the road or cutting and burning all the trees in a section of the Amazon larger than the state of California

This is being funded by Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup a global axis of environmental irresponsibility.

Please Green Man, tell me that when we have the choice of any electricity supplier you will dump TXU like hot coals!! At the time choice is available, everyone of their clients should dump TXU to make it even more money they need to find from these corporate giant banks and send an incredibly loud message to both texan governments, potential funders and TXU senior management that their intentions are not at all appreciated anywhere in the world.

I am still trying to work out exactly what it is that the US are leaders in - I think they are first at going backwards!!!

The Howard government is a disgrace supporting non-signing of the kyoto protocol and not putting its foot down toward environmental climate change control. Why must Howard follow so closely up the bum of those who may seem to be leaders but in actual fact are non-innovative, self-serving, self righteous, non-thinking, immoral or is just plain DUMB!!!
